Matveyev Vsevolod Borisovich
Vsevolod Borisovich was born on March 27, 1967 in Moscow. He graduated from Moscow secondary school № 45 in 1984.
In 1984-1990, he studied at the medical faculty in the 1st Moscow Medical Institute named after I.M. Sechenov. He graduated from the Institute with a degree in General Medicine and qualification as Medical Doctor.
In 1990-1991, he worked at the clinic of the Scientific Research Institute of Urology of the Health Care Ministry of Russia.
Then there were postgraduate studies (1991-1994) in the same Institute.
In 1994, he successfully defended his master's thesis entitled "Benign renal tumors. Symptoms, diagnosis and treatment". At the same time, in 1990-1992, he had his duties at the department of urology in City Clinical Hospital №57, Moscow.
In 1994, after his postgraduate studies, he was hired as a surgeon by the department of urology in the N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center of RAMS. From January 1995 to May 1997 he had a contract with the Royal Free Hospital, London, working there as a urologist. At the end of his traineeship in Great Britain he got a certificate of a trainee of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In May 1997, he joined the department of urology in the N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center of RAMS where he worked as a researcher. In 1999, he became a leading researcher in the same department.
In 2002, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Surgical management of metastatic renal cell carcinoma with venous extension".
From February 2005 till present he is the head of the department of urology in the 'FSBI' N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center.
In 2007, by a decision of the Higher Attestation Commission he has been awarded the scientific title of Professor of Medicine.
Vsevolod Borisovich is an active participant in a number of perspective clinical trials, including international trials. He is an author of more than 250 scientific works published in Russian and foreign literature, including 8 monographs, training manuals and scientific films. He has successfully supervised 19 master's theses and 1 doctoral thesis devoted to the contemporary problems of diagnosis and treatment of tumors of the genitourinary system.
Vsevolod Borisovich is a member of the Joint Academic Council and the Academic Council in the Scientific Research Institute of Clinical Oncology of the 'FSBI' N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center, a member of the Dissertation Council of the 'FSU' Scientific Research Institute of UrologyRosmedtechnologies", a member of the Editorial Board of such scientific journals as "Urology", "Oncourology", "Vestnik of the N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center", "Andrology and Genital Surgery", Russian version of "Journal of Clinical Oncology", a member of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), a member of the working group for writing guidelines for the European Association of Urology, President of the Russian Society of oncourologists, deputy head of the Russian society of urologists, a member of the European Association of Urology, a member of Moscow cancer society, trainee of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, honorary researcher of the Royal Free Hospital, London.
