Alekseyev Boris Yakovlevich
Boris Yakovlevich was born in 1969. In 1992, he graduated from the medical faculty of the Russian State Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov (RSMU or RNRMU) of the Ministry of Health of Russia. Then there were residency training (1992-1994) in oncology in the RSMU based on the P.A. Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute (MNIOI P.A. Gertsena) where he worked till 2013 at the department of oncourology, consistently taken the positions from the junior researcher to the head of the department. Nowadays Boris Yakovlevich Alekseyev is the deputy director of the MNIOI P.A. Gertsena which was named into National Medical Research Radiological Centre in 2015.
In 1998, he successfully defended his master's degree entitled "Intravesical immunotherapy of superficial bladder cancer" and in 2006 - his doctoral thesis entitled "Management of treatment of localized and locally advanced prostate cancer". In 2010, Boris Yakovlevich Alekseyev has been awarded the scientific title of Professor of Oncology.
Boris Yakovlevich is a highly qualified oncourologist, who may perform a broad variety of surgical procedures of all organs of the urinary tract as well as the male reproductive system.
He invented and implemented high-tech methods of surgical and minimally invasive treatment of cancer patients, suggested new methods of surgical treatment of patients suffering from prostate cancer, which were protected by patents of Russian Federation, unique techniques of laparoscopic surgery of renal, adrenal and prostate cancer. Various research works, including the development and improvement of diagnostic methods and treatment options for prostate, renal, bladder, testicular and adrenal cancers are done under his control. His is also interested in studying molecular genetic markers in cancer patients and implementing of unique laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques in oncourology as well as performing combined and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures in the treatment of the pelvic tumors.
As a principal investigator, Boris Yakovlevich takes part in more than 25 international clinical trials and holds oral presentations on a regular basis in Russia and abroad. He is a member of the Russian Oncology Association, the Russian society of urologists, the European and International Associations of Urology, a scientific secretary of the Russian Society of oncourologists.
B.Ya. Alekseyev has published more than 277 scientific works in Russian and foreign literature as well as wrote chapters in 9 monographs. Edited by him, such monographs as "Laparoscopic surgery in oncourology" and "National guidelines for oncourology" are published.
He has successfully supervised 10 master's theses and 1 doctoral thesis.
From 2008 till present B.Ya. Alekseyev is the head of the course of oncourology at the department of urology at the faculty of further professional education of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
During a long period of time Boris Yakovlevich works in the scientific journal "Oncourology" at the position of the executive secretary.
