Zyryanov Aleksandr Vladimirovich

Aleksandr Vladimirovich graduated from Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute (Ural State Medical University) with a degree in General Medicine in 1989.

In 1996, he defended his master's thesis entitled "Diagnosis and treatment of ureteral calculi located in the middle third of the ureter" at the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy. In 2003, he defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Retroperitoneal minimally invasive surgical options for ureteropelvic junction obstruction" at the SRI of Urology of the Health Care Ministry of Russia

In 1999, he was awarded the prize by the European Association of Urology for the best presentation. In 2004, he was invited to deliver lectures at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey (USA).

In 2006, Aleksandr Vladimirovich together with his colleagues developed and implemented the governor's program "Men's urologic health" in Sverdlovsk region, which was highly recognized at the federal level and is one of the main parts of the National Programme for Health. For the first time in the region Ural-Siberia-Far East A.V. Zyryanov implemented brachytherapy, one of the contemporary methods of treating patients with prostate cancer. This method is based on implanting short-term radiation sources based on I-125 in the prostate. He is the organizer and one of the founders of the Russian Brachytherapy Society.

In 2007, for the first time in Russia A.V. Zyryanov performed robotic-assisted prostatectomy using the da Vinci Surgical System. Nowadays his work is mainly based on a new model da Vinci SI. He performs a variety of robotic-assisted urologic cancer surgery, including renal, bladder and prostate cancer.

Since 2007 Aleksandr Vladimirovich has been the guest professor at the leading cancer center of the USA - Fox Chase Cancer Center. Since 2011 he has been the director of the clinical, research and teaching cancer program at the Eurasian Oncology Alliance in the Ural region. In the same year he was recognized as the best Russian physician and received the diploma at the 11All-Russian contest held by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

In 2012, he received a well-deserved "Medical Olympus" award in the "Saver of the year" nomination. This contest is organized by the Ekaterinburg City Health Department. 

From 2003 till 2014 A.V. Zyryanov was the head of the department of oncourology at the

Sverdlovsk Regional Clinical Hospital № 1. Nowadays he is the head of the department of oncology at the Tyumen State Medical Academy, head of the Tyumen Region Multidisciplinary clinical medical centre "Medical Campus" (former Tyumen regional cancer detection center), head of the department of urology at the Medical Center "Neftyannik", Tyumen. 

Aleksandr Vladimirovich is an author of more than 155 scientific publications, including the works devoted to robotic-assisted prostatectomy and renal resection. He has 5 patents for invention.

A.V. Zyryanov is a member of the Russian society of urologists and the European Association of Urology and the Bureau of the Russian Society of oncourologists.
