Kaprin Andrei Dmitriyevich
Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, Honored Physician of the Russian Federation, one of the leading specialists of the Russian Federation in the sphere of diagnosis and treatment for urological diseases.
During all his scientific and practical work Andrei Dmitriyevich has developed contemporary methods of surgical and combined treatment of different urologic diseases, including kidney, bladder, prostate, etc. Clinical implementation of the evidence-based unique techniques enabled him to achieve perfection in surgical stage as well as in the combined treatment of the most severe urologic patients. It helps him to improve significantly the main parameters of the treatment efficacy as well as the quality of patients' lives.
Every year Andrei Dmitriyevich performs more than 200 complicated surgical procedures for a variety of urologic diseases. Since March 2013 he is the head of the MNIOI P.A. Gertsena which was named into National Medical Research Radiological Centre in 2015. One of the important aspects of his work are teaching and training of scientific personnel in urology and oncology. Moreover, he manages to combine this sphere with active clinical and scientific work.
In 2001-2003, he was the head of the oncourology course at the department of nephrology and hemodyalisis of the FPE First MSMU named after I.M. Sechenov. From 2006 till present he is the head of the department at the Faculty of Advanced Training for Peoples' Friendship University. During all these years he has been a lecturer at the same department, where he gives his knowledge to the physicians holding post-education course in urology. Moreover, at least 3-4 times per year he is invited in different regions of Russia with his oral presentations towards local physicians.
He taught more than 300 physicians, including residents and postgraduates. He has successfully supervised 19 master's theses and 4 doctoral theses. Results of his research are published in more than 400 scientific works, including 3 monographs and 4 training manuals.
Recognition of his achievements in the extensive clinical, scientific and teaching work were reflected in awarding him the honorary title of the "High Achiever of the Health Care" (2006). In accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 2007, A.D. Kaprin was awarded the title of the Honored Physician of the Russian Federation.
