Бурназяна ФМБА России, Москва</institution></aff></aff-alternatives><pub-date date-type="pub" iso-8601-date="2008-12-30" publication-format="electronic"><day>30</day><month>12</month><year>2008</year></pub-date><volume>4</volume><issue>4</issue><issue-title xml:lang="en"/><issue-title xml:lang="ru"/><fpage>25</fpage><lpage>29</lpage><history><date date-type="received" iso-8601-date="2020-02-13"><day>13</day><month>02</month><year>2020</year></date><date date-type="accepted" iso-8601-date="2020-02-13"><day>13</day><month>02</month><year>2020</year></date></history><permissions><ali:free_to_read xmlns:ali="http://www.niso.org/schemas/ali/1.0/"/></permissions><self-uri xlink:href="https://oncourology.abvpress.ru/oncur/article/view/1025">https://oncourology.abvpress.ru/oncur/article/view/1025</self-uri><abstract xml:lang="en"><p><bold>Purpose:</bold> to define diagnostic possibilities of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with body coil in the determining of the stage and local extent of prostate cancer.</p><p><bold>Materials and methods:</bold> Analysis of MRI studies of 49 patients aged from 48 to 78 (65±6) with confirmed diagnosis of prostate cancer who underwent radical retropubic prostatectomy in 2007 was carried out.</p><p><bold>Conclusions:</bold> sensitivity of MRI in terms of primary diagnosis was 84% and in detection of prostate gland capsule invasion — 62%, specificity was 92%. Sensitivity of the method in terms of determining the invasion of seminal vesicles was 75% and specificity — 97%. At last, sensitivity of the method in the diagnosis of regional lymph node involvement was 40% and specificity — 98%.</p><p><bold>Conclusion:</bold> application of MRI with surface coil allows defining the local extent of the tumor, its size and invasion of prostate gland capsule.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>.</p></trans-abstract><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">1.
