Abstract
Three-dimensional reconstruction and CT-based modelling are increasingly used for preoperative planning in renal tumour surgery. This narrative review summarizes 42 publications focused on virtual 3D models, 3D printing and holographic reconstruction to assess patient-specific anatomy, including renal vascular architecture and tumour relationships. The literature suggests that 3D models may improve anatomical understanding, influence surgical strategy, and potentially optimize selected perioperative outcomes (operative time, blood loss, ischemia parameters). The review also outlines areas where artificial intelligence methods may be applied (primarily automated segmentation and faster image post-processing) and discusses limitations of implementation (standardization, validation, organizational and legal issues).
